Chilling times at Chili’s

Chili’s have been for more than 35 years. They were initially a Hamburger in basket and bowls of spicy “Texas Red Chili” joint in Dallas, Texas. Now they have more than 1,500 restaurants in 33 countries and 2 territories. As we initially walked inside my craving was Nacho’s, taco’s and burgers but I did not end up having any of them. I have no regret of missing out on that as I was served those dishes that actually gave my taste bugs the most beautiful time of its life. I had ordered a Persidente Margarita with no alcohol, it was tangy but very nice. A fellow blogger, Karan had taken the same with alcohol, I had a slip for taste and it was quite refreshing and did give me a kick as it contained tequila and brandy. I would have ordered an alcoholic drink myself but being a sensible rider, I did not want to indulge myself in drink and drive. When I told the management about my drink was tangy but nice, they wrapped up a Blue Pacific Margarita which became among my favorite drink in non alcohol category. It wasn very sweet but very refreshing after a tiring ride, it was a perfect blend for which you could enjoy any food. Another blogger, Rumana had ordered a Minty Melon which contains mangos, mints and melon, even though I am not a fan of fruits, I have to say that it tasted very good. The fruits blended well with each, not giving one particular taste. Later Rumana had ordered a Pomegranate moji-tea which she loved as it was fruity.

Triple Dipper
Triple dipper veg

We had ordered Triple Dipper which is non-veg platter with wings over buffalo, country fried calamari and Crispy Chicken Crisper, the veg platter contanied Southwestern Rolls, Fried paneer quesadillas bites and Texas cheese poppers. Both the platters were severed with three unique dips for a particular dish and the interesting thing was that not of the dips contained egg, so all you veggies can enjoy these as well. Let me tell you about the Triple dipper. The wings over buffalo were wonderful and cooked pretty good but when had with its particular dip, it actually made me drool in my month as I was eating it. Country fried calamari was my favorite out of the three; this were squid and let me tell you that never have I have something like before in my life. It was crunchy on the outside and pleasantly squishy in the inside, this was something new and I actually loved the seasoning flavour on the top and got the squid flavor inside. Crispy chicken crisper was crispy chicken and tasted best with BBQ sauce. I also suggest that you do experiment with the dips as well, it will surely leave you wanting for more.

Now let me tell you about the veg platter. I initially had the Texas cheese poppers, this was really good. It did not contain too much cheese but just enough to leave you wanting for more. Then followed it by the Fried paneer quesadillas bites which was cooked on a tandoor and was pleasantly good. Last but not the least was the Southwestern rolls this was very amazing due to the perfect blend of veggies, mushroom and corn.

For main course we had ordered Red Chili Pesto pasta with veggies and Grilled fish of the day.

Red chilli pesto pasta was good because of the unique sauce taste. The red sauce did not leave the entire pasta tasting like tomato ketchup but the sauce had a blend of red and white sauce which was quite different and very good.

For non veg, we ordered Blackened Vietnamese Basa with spicy garlic and shrimp. Let me tell you that the shrimps and the fish was cooked to perfection with beautiful seasonings that actually made me feel bad that i had too much of non alcoholic drink due to which i could not eat more of it. The rice and beans was the perfect blend for the fish. If you are a sea food lover i strongly suggest you to try out this and the country fried calamari.

Chocolate chip paradise pie
It is time for my favorite course i.e., desserts. Since the three of us actually full, we deciding on ordering only one dessert and we choose Chocolate chip paradise pie over molten chocolate cake (the most desired dessert) but the choice was still good. The chocolate chip paradise pie has a chewy bar of chocolate chips and walnuts which was topped with vanilla ice cream, hot fudge and caramel. This was the perfect dessert to end the dinner with. If we had a little more space in our tummy, we would have surely tried a molten chocolate cake also. I will surely try it the next time I visit Chili’s.

This was mainly about the food and the most interesting part of this outlet for me was the staff. The staff was friendly and interactive. They helped us to choose what to eat and drink.

This is the place that is better gone with friends, family or date. The music is light, the place is bright and the staff is just amazing. Highly recommended.

You can follow Chili's on Twitter and Facebook to know more about their food.
