Special anniversary menu at Sanctum club



Sanctum means "A sacred or holy place". This place has a wonderful vibe and I felt it as I entered the place. There was good EDM being played in the beginning and they changed to light music up to nine, after that EDM was playing all night long. It has a small dance floor but this was enough as there is enough space all around Sanctum, that you can shake a leg without any hassle. The bar was amazing to look at with the lighting's.


Sanctum is operational from a year and on their anniversary a small group of Bloggers were asked to taste their all day Special anniversary menu. This was organized by Burrp, it was my pleasure to be called for such an event. Chef Joaquin Albarreal Arjona introduced the menu to us and we all were excited to try some Spanish cuisine. I just loved the place but could not figure out a reason, I prefer not breaking my head with it because "A few things are better not understood"


The menu was a four course meal. The wine selection for the menu was white wine for entree, starter and desert while red wine for main course. They was no new addition in the drinks menu but I bet the bar tender would wipe you something very good, based on your preference. Never hesitate to experiment.
Entree
For entree's to choose from where Broccoli and almonds expresso and Salmorejo foam. The Salmorejo foam which is a tomato foam served over poached egg, bacon and garlic croutons. The first thing I asked the waiter was if the bacon was pork or beef, it was pork and I ordered it. This dish was served in a martini glass and it look delicious. The chef had asked us to scoop up all the ingredients and have the first bite. I took a big scoop and it sent a chill wave in my mouth because of the dish but within seconds I could taste all the items, it tasted very good. I have never tasted such a dish ever before but it was beautiful.

The other entree were ordered by some bloggers, Broccoli and almonds expresso is Broccoli cream soup with toasted almonds along with broccoli cookies. They praised the creamy soup and the way that the chef has played with broccoli was a treat for them.
Starters
Starters are 2 options, Burger bull and Grilled aubergine and wild rocket. The burger bull contains beef, due to which I went for the other option. The grilled aubergine and wild rocket leaves is grilled aubergine and wild rocket salad with balsamic inaigrette. The salad is organic. I had the pleasure to taste rocket leaves before but when I had my first bite of this salad I was taken back completely, the salad was only slightly bitter. This is a good dish, due to such dishes I still eat veg.

The Burger bull look yummy but all I could do is drool as Rumana eat. She said that it is well cooked meat, juicy and tasty. The chef told us that the tail is cook over a seven hours. The tail is opened up and no more ingredients are added to this meat, the meat is cooked on its own and its gets its flavor from its own tail.

Beer infused grilled chicken
The additions in the main course are Beer infused grilled chicken, Grilled salmon and Wild mushroom risotto with truffle oil. The beer infused grilled chicken is beer marinated grilled chicken served with creamy mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables. The chef has used Kingfisher but if you trying at home and you want the chicken to have a little kick then go for Budweiser and for mild go for Kingfisher, the chicken can be marinated upto 15 days and the ideal time is one day. The chicken that was served us was marinated for about a day, the chicken was very tender and juicy. The best part of the chicken was that it was a wing piece with skin, the skin had a very good taste and the flesh around that part is the one that observes the ingredients well. The cream mashed potato was prepared to perfection. The highlight of this dish is the gravy, you heard me right. The gravy is the main ingredient in this dish, this held the entire dish as one. This dish was in the menu from the start and is a hot among the customers.

Grilled salmon
The grilled salmon is served with greek salad and basil cream sauce. The grilled salmon was just yum, the greek salad and basil cream sauce was a good combination with the salmon. If your are a sea food lover then get ready to eat the perfectly grilled salmon here.

Wild mushroom risotto with truffle oil
The wild mushroom risotto with truffle oil is the most preferred dish in Sanctum but I did not taste the same. My friends said that the dish was very simple looking but very flavorful.

Sunny side up
The dessert is named as sunny side up. This was an unusual name for a dish that has white chocolate mousse, liquid mango sphere, apple fries and strawberry ketchup. The chef had suggested to have the entire liquid mango sphere with some white chocolate mousse and that what I did, the liquid mango sphere busted in mouth and the release of the flavors was just a magically experience to me.

The United Sports Bar and Grill now in Bangalore

 Located in Phoenix Market City in WhiteField in Bengaluru.


The first thing that I noticed when I walked into the place was the pool table. This told me that this is a fun place to be in with my friends. The ambiance is very good to watch any game with my buds. The place has a television in every corner of the place and not to forget the huge screen right up front, which makes it an idea place to watch any game wherever you are seated. The place is decorated in a way that you would enjoy all sports that is screened. Even on weekday on it the place was packed up well. The United Sport Bar and Grill is a 136 seater where likeminded individuals can cheer for their favorite team with a smile and a sweat over winning and losing. Here you could feel the live telecast with "Stick of Fame" which is a wall which displays the sticks of various sports.

The hot chilli potato was the one that like among all the other veg starters, it was well cooked and had a get the right ingredients that made it stand apart. The crispy mozeralla cheese was also good especially with the dip. The Brushetta was severed over a blow of live fish, this is a very different style of serving. The other veg starters that was served was Sauted spinach and Beans sprouts, Crispy mozeralla cheese and Jerk spiced grilled cottage cheese. Crispy mozeralla cheese was a nice starter alone with the dip.  Jerk spiced grilled cottage cheese and Sauted spinach and Beans sprouts were also a good veg starter.

The way that fire cracker prawn was served mesmerized us, this was very crunchy but I got only a slight taste of prawns. I had expected more for the dish due to way it was dish did not taste to my expectation. The Grilled fish steak, zuchini- spinach cigar roll, with mexican salsa had a unique blend with of fish and salsa. Brabeue prok ribs was well made and served in a different way but the dish was very cooked with a nice blend of brabeue sauce. The other dishes that were served were chicken shish tauk and Olive rubbed chicken skewers

The mutton seekh kebab and the chicken peri peri kebab was cooked well and went with my Mojito. The paneer ale and Dhingri Bhara Kebab were also well made, the fact that it was veg made no relative difference.

Now its time for the main course, I had ordered the Thai chicken curry - Green even thou the sizzlers looked good. The sizzler was kinda to sweet for me and the curry was also sweet but it was just enough for me enjoy the sweetness. I had preferred that if.the dish was served with the salad that was served in the prawn curry dish then it would have been even more tasty.

We had asked the chief to make his special dish for the main course, he wiped up herb spring chicken. The chicken was tender with the perfect blend with the gravy. The mash potato should have been a bit creamy. The salad was very good. This dish was indeed a very good.

We ordered all the five desserts on the menu this time, it was a good experience to taste all the dessert on the menu. Out of the five I loved the chocolate browine with ice cream and the chocolate volcano with ice cream these two dessert stole the show for me. The Apple crumble, Pizookie and Tiramisu were also good.

I would recommend the hot chiili potato and the Brabeue pork ribs. If you are a sea food lover then go for the Goan prawn curry, a chicken lover then I would suggest you to go for Herb spring chicken and if you like main course on the sweeter side then you can order the Prawn sizzler, which will not let you down. For the dessert I ask you to try out the chocolate volcano, if you looking something less sweet then try out the Tiramisu and if you love nuts then Pizookie.

The place has an unique ambiance, which enables everyone a sense of comfort. The comfort is a requirement as it enable me to enjoy the food. The other interesting part was the waiter's clothes, they were different from the other places. The clothes was a blend, which enabled them to stand as one in the restaurant but made them blend in once then walk out. The clothes weren't the only thing, they way they carried them self well along with being very polite was an added bonus.

As we sat down we were offered Jasmine pearl tea. I was chilled as i got wet in the rain, the tea just brought me back to life. I tend the take little sips and take my time in having tea, that was my mistake. This tea should be had when it is hot, I hope you slow drinkers do not repeat my mistake. The tea was very good till it was hot but my taste bugs did not feel comfortable as it got cold. I had the pleasure to taste a mocktail know as Cucumber elder flower. My stomach loves cucumber and this was a well made mocktail which my little tummy liked but the essence of elder flower was a bit over powering.



Now is was the time for soup. Tom Yum Chicken Soup was severed and might i say that this was my first time but my taste bugs had a wonderful time with my throat. The hot soup was like a silver platter after the cold tea. The fresh vegetables was boiled to perfection with the chicken, the spices and other ingredient was in very good blend.

Now comes the comes the dish that I love to go to a restaurant for the dumplings. We were severed steamed veg and chicken dumplings. The chicken dumplings was delicious, it was so good that I had three and asked for more. The veg dumpling was well cooked but i personally wasn't fond of the taste. The thing I like about a dumpling is that it tells me how the main course will be.

The new dish on my plate was Scallion sesame chicken cake. This dish reminded of the dish that is made in my house. I love my mother's cooking and we called it Keema Bun (chicken/Mutton) and this was really better than what I have at home. The keema was perfectly cooked and the bun was well baked. This was the dish for the day for me. This even topped the dumplings.

The veg salad was Som Tum classic salad was served which was a shredded green papaya salad with palm sugar adding some sweetness to it. The blend off everything took me by shock. Even thou I personally do not like so many green things on my plate, I still try these so relish the these few dishes that make me forget about non-veg. This was one delight to the vegetarians and me.

For the non veg eaters it was Spicy pomelo shrimp salad. Pomelo is a crisp citrus fruit native to South and Southeast Asia, taste sweet and mild grapefruit type this was liked by my fellows but I could not relish its taste. The shrimp was wow, cooked well and tasted better.

Crispy lotus, shiracha chili sauce was served which caught the attention of everyone. Lotus stem was tossed with honey, ginger, chilies and garnished with sesame seeds. This was a well cooked dish but it was too sweet for me for a fired dish

For the main course, Stir fried Kale with Lamb was my favorite along with Jasmine rice. Out of the other items I had for my main course, I liked Stir fried Kale with lamb and Deep fried prawns, tamarind sauce. The reason for Stir Fried Kale with lamb was due to the lamb which enriched the dish and caught my attention. The deep fried prawns was very crispy but the taste of the prawn was not felt. The vegetarians have Tofu which was good.






How to end a meal without a dessert, Peach cobbler was served even ice cream. This was the dish that magically found it’s way to way all over tummy in just a matter of minutes. Each and every bite that was taken from the dish was nothing less than a fight among us. This was so good that it actually got my tummy smiling again.

This place is one of the place that you cannot miss due to the Tom Yum soup, dumplings, scallion sesame chicken cake and Peach cobbler. The doors to Bangkok is opened in Bangalore, you cannot miss it.
