Coastal experiences - Coast by Opera for iPad

Opera has been used by me a lot of time on my computer and my nokia cell phone. Coast is a web browser for iPad, which has been engineered and designed by Opera. In India, iPad is not widely owned (like i don’t own one myself) but very familiar with it, as I have used in many instants. The presentation was headed by Huib Kleinhout. The first version of opera was introduced in Sept 2013 and now 2.0 version was launched on 17 Dec 2013. The browser is java unscripted due to which it integrates better with the iPad. This browser is also asked by many users to make it as the default browsers for iPad but Apple Corporation want to continue with Safari. The new version can make life simpler for iPad users.

Now talking about the new features of Coast
The homepage looks great with unlimited pages along with widgets type icons as the links towards the websites. The history of your browsing can be saved at the task bar of the homepage for re-use (it remain on the same page) and the feature provided is a tap as well as a swipe motion.

The address bar is located at the top of the homepage and this can be accessed by a tap or a down swipe motion also. This actually enables new users to understand the tap and later have fun by exploring the swipe motion also. Huib’s main intention was to change the internet experience and make it a fun experience, which is rightly been made by the engineer’s. As I have mentioned above all the internet pages that have been saved by you appear as widgets on the homepage which is actually a link to the page. The main concept of this is to make the internet experience different and which they have managed here.

The pleasure of using this app was the music experience for me. The page actually shows small animation of graphic equalizer in the website’s icon, which can be controlled from the iOS lock screen  only, as if those were native music player app.

Opera engineers and designers have keep in mind the iPad in mind throughout their development, every corner is optimized with touch. This enables the user to have full optimization of touch and swipe motion than back and forward buttons. Due to this, customization of your home screen has become easier. The PDF documents can be opened outside Coast on PDF compatible apps. The improvement in speed to navigate between pages makes it a great experience to surf on the internet.

The interesting part of Coast was the inbuilt security. Whenever you visit a new page, the app first goes through its check list like checking if the certificate’s date, the present and past certificate to notice major changes, if the page is likely to banking details and etc. Is the site passes through the procedure the page is opened, if the pages fails to pass then the app pops up the unique error message that actually shows what the following risks that the page holds.

Opera has various products for phone, desktops, TV, etc but Coast by opera has been designed only for iPad, that is was what makes Coast to beautiful and easy to use. Since Coast was made only by keeping iPad in their mind, you cannot download and use on any other operation system other than iOS
If you are an iPad user and want to change your experience of using the internet, then I recommend to use Coast by opera. The same can be downloaded from the app store or from the website for free. Do try to feel the new experience of enjoying surfing online.
